Art exhibition opens / Upcoming author talk

Paper Chained International, my first curated art exhibition, is now open and on display until May 31 at Boom Gate Gallery, the art gallery outside Long Bay Correctional Centre. The launch party, opened by Her Excellency NSW Governor Margaret Beazley (pictured), was a great success that I could not have been happier with. If you keep an eye on the press and media section of my website, you'll be able to see a few interviews about the exhibition I'm doing in the next few days as well. And if you're in Sydney, don't miss your oppurtunity to see over 100 artworks from prisons around the world while the exhibition is open.

A little closer to home in Newcastle, you'll be able to catch me on May 18 at the Writer Here festival in Lake Macquarie, where I'll be on the 'What Shapes Our Lives' memoir panel alongside former Detective Craig Semple. Both our memoirs focus on a search for identity and personal growth from trauma, and I'm really looking forward to both talking and hearing more about Craig's journey. If you can make it I'll also be doing signings of both my memoir and my crime novel, Scarred.
