It's not every day you get to have a book launch, and it's not every day you make your debut being interviewed on television either. Even more unusual is when these both occur on the same day, and the events aren't even related.
My second book, Raw, officially launched yesterday (launch event pictured), and today you can also read an incredible review of the book in The Australian (online version here behind paywall). The article accidentally refers to my previous jobs, including sex work, as things I still do, but at the end of the day sex sells so I can't say I'm bothered by this.
Back in May, I was also filmed by SBS for the television show The Swiping Game. To make my day extra special, of all the days this year that episode could have been released, it was the day of my book launch. The Swiping Game is a show about internet dating and the episode I was interviewed and filmed for was on polyamory and ethical non-monogamy, which is indeed something I touch on briefly in my memoir, though you'll probably hear more about that subject in the TV episode. You can watch that anytime by making a free account on SBS On Demand. You can find the link to the episode here.
It's been a very busy couple of days, and as usual there's no rest for the wicked. Things I'm working on from here, like other writing, probably won't be getting much media attention soon though. But do stay tuned for issue 12 of my magazine Paper Chained though, which will be launched late next week.
